Behind the scenes at Eco Stylish spring event

Launching a business without substantial investment is undoubtedly challenging. As I continue to search for the right investor to accept my vision, I've had to keep costs to a minimum without compromising on the quality of our events' experience. This balancing act is not easy, but it's a journey I'm deeply passionate about.

At our recent Eco Stylish Spring Event, I made the decision to forgo hiring a professional photographer to save on expenses. Unfortunately, this resulted in some issues with our video framing – you'll notice my legs in the picture and Yèga’s head gets cut off. While I do regret this decision, the content of the interview remains incredibly engaging and insightful and I did my best to edit the video in the most compelling way.

The event itself was a resounding success. Yéga, our featured fashion illustrator, was absolutely fabulous. Her expressive personality and sense of humor made the interview both entertaining and enlightening. Yéga shared fascinating insights into her career, her collaborations, and her advice for aspiring fashion illustrators, especially those interested in African illustration. She’s currently holding workshops at the V&A Museum for the 'Naomi in Fashion' exhibition and hinted at some exciting upcoming projects, possibly even a future exhibition of her work!

To ensure there was something fresh on display at the event, I attended a few sample sales and showcased mostly pre-loved fashion, including different items from my own wardrobe. The goal is for attendees to become Eco Stylish members and start swapping their clothes, shoes, and bags, providing a constant refresh of stylish items at each event.

Despite the video quality not being perfect, the atmosphere of the event was fantastic. People connected not only in person but also on social media, fostering a community of like-minded individuals passionate about sustainable fashion.

As I plan our summer event, I'm excited about the potential for even more connections and inspiring experiences. Are you in? Join us and become part of the Eco Stylish journey towards a more sustainable and stylish future.

Check out the video interview with Yéga below. Despite the framing issues, I promise you’ll find her insights and stories absolutely captivating. Thank you for your support, and I look forward to seeing you at our next event!
